SUMMARY:Skills for Life
DESCRIPTION:Skills for Life Jim was born and raised in Orrville\, Ohio (with a population 8\,000\, it acquired its renown as being the home of Smuckers jams\, jellies and preserves; and Bobby Knight).  \nCurrently a member of the Talk of the Town Toastmasters\, this is his 28th year in Toastmasters.  \nJim set up Skills For Life\, Inc.\, a 501C3 corporation in March of 2002 to devote full time to working with inmates in Texas prisons\, utilizing the Toastmasters curriculum to establish gavel clubs to teach servant leadership and communication skills.  \nWith 8 volunteers the program has created 27 groups in 16 prisons. Over 700 inmates participate in the program every week. Jim will share how the program works and its positive impact on prisoner recidivism.
