About Me
Kim Williams Mathes is the Assistant Vice President of Community Engagement for HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division, serving 16 hospitals in Houston and South Texas.
Kim was part of the inaugural team to launch HCA Healthcare’s comprehensive community engagement initiative at HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division. She is responsible for creating strategies and growing relationships with measurable impact with community partners such as the City of Houston, the University of Houston, March of Dimes, American Heart Association, Center for Houston’s Future, and school districts throughout the division and many more.
Prior to June 2018, Kim worked for HCA Gulf Coast Division as the Senior Marketing Director, South Quadrant and prior to that role she served as the Division Marketing Director. During her long-tenured career at HCA Healthcare, Kim also held positions in employer relations, hospital marketing, and community relations, and participated in strategic planning, organized events and handled media relations.
Kim currently sits on board of directors for The Women’s Fund for Health, Education and Resiliency and is on the advisory board of Houston Philanthropy Circle. In 2022, Kim began serving as the co-chair of the Women’s Health Network of the Texas Medical Center and Greater Houston for the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce.
As a long-standing mental health advocate, Kim serves as a NAMI Peer-to-Peer leader. In May of 2021, Kim became the chair and co-founder of HCA Healthcare Gulf Coast Division’s Mental Health and Wellness Colleague Network, the division’s fastest growing colleague network and one that will be launched throughout HCA Healthcare.
In 2021, Kim served as an Executive with Heart for the American Heart Association Houston Heart Walk. Kim is a 2019 graduate of the Center for Houston’s Future Leadership Class, a 2005 graduate of the West Houston Leadership Institute, has served on the board of directors of the American Heart Association- Katy, the West Houston Leadership Institute, and Volunteer Interfaith Caregivers. She also co-chaired the West Houston Public Safety Committee, the Health and Wellness Committee at the Houston West Chamber of Commerce, and the Houston Westchase Rotary Club. Additionally, Kim served on The Women’s Home Partnership Council in Houston.
Her educational accomplishments include a Bachelor of Science in Journalism with a minor in Marketing and specialization in Public Relations from Texas A&M University, and a Master's in Business Administration from Texas Woman's University.
